Ringing:
Observation: Today was quite similar (too similar, if you ask me) to yesterday. Luckily, unlike yesterday, I (Anton) was joined by David, which helped greatly with my enjoyment of the obs. The wind was still from the east, and very few birds were in the air. The most notable ones were the geese and ducks - of these, the most interesting ones were the 108 Wigeons (Pibeand), 14 Greater White-fronted Geese (Blisgås), the 12 Pintails (Spidsand), and the 4 Tufted Ducks (Troldand). A single Mallard also joined us at obs, which is a species I have not seen a lot of the last month or so out here.
Other than the ducks, most numbers were low. Even the usual suspects were few, with only 279 Common Scoters (Sortand), 19 Red-throated Loons (Rødstrubet lom), and no migrating Meadow Pipits (Engpiber) or Chaffinches/Bramblings (Bogfinke/Kvækerfinke).
Hopefully tomorrow will be more exciting…
